Yes, we can accommodate large rigs!

When designing the driveway to access the property, it was our goal to make the driveway wide enough to accommodate the largest of rigs.  Since the property is 36+ acres in size, there is no shortage of places to camp on the property.  Most of the property is fairly rocky while other areas are relatively clear of rocks.

As time permits, we will be clearing some areas to insure accessibility by all sizes of rigs with varying degrees of ground clearance.  Time and budget permitting, we will be adding graveled areas to make things nicer during the rainy season.

We are continuing to offer free camping for both short and long term duration.  This includes firewood easily collected on site.

With limited use and combined with the size of the property, your privacy can be insured, as well as peace and quiet.

Second Ridge Valley Ranch Video

In this video, I venture further away from my first video, and frankly, still haven’t walked the property line…am sure if I was to go further SE I would have even better mountain views, but it is even rockier in that direction.

Ridge Valley Ranch is on the west side of the Windsor Valley in Concho, AZ. We have a valley view to the east and northeast and a view of the White Mountains to the southeast.

First video published from the Ridge Valley Ranch

This video was taken quickly on my first visit to the property which was after having bought the land.  You will see in a later video that I have changed my mind about where to put my trailer, but for now, just go with it 🙂

Are you interested in dark skies for Astrophotography?

Have a signup from a Phoenix area resident seeking dark skies for the upcoming Perseids Meteor Shower on August 12-13.  Due to the site’s off-grid location, it is far enough away from light pollution sources, placing it at the top end of Bortle class 2 light activity.  Class 1, excellent dark sky, is rated 22.00 to 21.99.  Ridge Valley Ranch has a 21.97 rating (average dark sky 21.99-21.89).  As an example, the Galaxy Messier 33 in Triangulum (the Triangulum Galaxy), 2.73 million light years from Earth, can be seen with the naked eye!  The peak for the meteor shower is on August 12 at 8:38 pm with 110 meteors per hour.

Welcome to the Ridge Valley Ranch!

Ridge Valley Ranch

Would like to welcome everyone who stops by to visit us at the ranch and stay to enjoy free camping!

What you come for is the awesome view.  From the Windsor Valley to the north, across the valley to the east, and the White Mountains to the south.

You will be surrounded by junipers and pinon pines in the cool 6600′ air.

The Ridge Valley Ranch is located in Concho, AZ, 22 miles from Show Low, 40 miles to the Petrified Forest National Park,  Red Rock Lavender Farm, and a bounty of White Mountain attractions.

Apache County stretches from the NE corner of the state to further than half-way south in the state, all along the eastern border of Arizona.

The Ranch encompasses over 36 acres offering plenty of camping areas allowing for a private and quiet stay.   A big benefit is no goat heads 🙂  There are a small number of cactus so please watch your step!

The ranch is off-grid but provides some basic services including free firewood and wi-fi.  Good cell service from AT&T and Verizon.  For now, T-Mobile is available through a roaming partner.
